Welcome to metal-designs, wrought iron drawings and designs library. We don't sell gates and railings, we provide designs and inspiration for anyone wishing to buy or commission wrought iron work. A high quality well made pair of double driveway or estate gates can enhance the look of any property and provide additional security. Wall railings are an excellent addition to brick work. Rose arches and obelisks can improve the look of any garden.
It really doesn't matter where you live deepest Devon, Suburban London or rural Suffolk. A high quality well made piece of wrought iron work should last a lifetime. If its something you are having made to your specific needs its important that you get a design that you like.
We have collected here an expanding library of drawings and designs for metal gates, railings and other forms of wrought iron work including curtain poles and fire baskets amongst others. More drawings will be added over time, to make this site a comprehensive collection of wrought iron ideas.
We are also including a terminology, to help understand phrases often used within the steel work industry. Thus enabling you the customer to be well armed with information about what you have commissioned.
At a later time we will include a directory of blacksmiths and wrought iron workers, this will be listed by county , Yorkshire, Essex, Surrey etc. For now I suggest using a search term that's relatively specific. Such as wrought iron gates Hertfordshire. Metal gates Kent or Steel gates Hampshire. Obviously change the locality to one that suits you.

These you will have to direct to your local blacksmith or wrought ironworker. How ever we always welcome comments on how to improve the web site, and comments from those blacksmiths or wrought iron workers wishing to link to this site.
Due to the amount of work required and the number of drawings, to format and upload to this site and that I'm a full time wrought iron worker in the West Sussex area.
